American artist Claire Siepser obtained her MFA in book arts and MA in printmaking from the University of Alabama after her BA in French Literature from Reed College. She currently resides in Oakland, California. She has exhibited internationally and her work is held by numerous Special Collections including The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Yale, Duke, UCLA, and the Kinsey Institute. She is also heavily involved in community arts including founding and directing an artist collective for two years. Her work primarily explores play, interactivity, accessibility, healing, activism, and alternative ways to approach books. (see statement). She doesn’t like to use fancy art words and often imagines dinosaurs and unicorns falling in love.
